Practice Emphasis
Steve has a general solicitor’s practice, advising clients on commercial and corporate matters, wills and estates, and real estate (including residential, commercial, and development properties). Steve maintains a particular focus on commercial leasing including the pre-leasing of new retail projects. He also regularly acts for lenders in commercial lending transactions and assists non-profit organizations with their own transactions and bylaw reviews.

Lending & Financing
Steve has acted for both borrowers and lenders in a multitude of lending transactions, including transactions involving business and real estate acquisitions and refinancing, and including acting for both institutional and private lenders.
Business Law
Steve acts for business owners of all types assisting with an array of issues they face. Incorporating companies, negotiating and drafting joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements, and co-owner agreements, drafting partnership agreements, and assisting with corporate financing are matters Steve regularly handles.
Real Estate
Steve assists clients with all aspects relating to real estate, including home purchases, commercial land purchases, subdivisions of all types (including the creation of strata projects), easements and rights of way. Steve also often acts for both landlords and tenants in commercial lease situations and is experienced in drafting and negotiating retail, office, and industrial leases.
Wills, Estates and Incapacity Planning
Steve regularly assists clients with estate planning, preparing Wills, and preparing for their potential incapacity. In doing so Steve often collaborates with clients’ tax advisors to minimize the impact of taxation on their estate, and implements the use of tools such as trusts to achieve the client’s objectives, financial and otherwise.
